Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 limits Field Level Security to be utilised in custom fields only.
Now, CRM 2015 allows System Administrators to enable field level security for system and custom fields as well. A system field secured by Field Level Security could be protected even when synchronising with Microsoft Outlook.
