Pythagoras had the Theorem to be Cracker Challenge Champions

Cracker Challenge Dec 16

On Wednesday 14th December, the Pythagoras Pythons participated in the Cracker Challenge, an event run by the Maidenhead Advertiser in support of their annual Cracker Appeal which raises money for local causes. This winter’s event was hosted at the Magnet Leisure Centre in Maidenhead.

During the event, 12 teams had to battle it out over five challenges which were – Nerf Wars; Knock your block off; Pillow Wars; Battle Zone; Assault course; and Kingball. While speed was required for the assault course, the rest of the challenges required core muscle strength both for balance, and for defeating the other team or opposing individual.

Once all the challenges had been completed, Pythagoras learned that they were mid-table, the second part of the evening involved a quiz involving 50 questions on general knowledge, sport and popular culture; here Pythagoras really came into their own achieving a mighty 460 points out of 500. Combined with their earlier efforts, Pythagoras were announced Cracker Challenge Champions and came away with the trophy.

Claire Pearce, Team Captain for Pythagoras commented: “Following our joint third-place position in the summer challenge earlier in the year, we were determined to improve on our performance. While the challenges in this winter edition were certainly more physical than we were anticipating, we still gave it our all. Together with our storming performance at the quiz, we were ecstatic to lift the trophy as Cracker Challenge Champions; it proved we had the theorem to win after all!”

The Pythagoras Pythons look forward to competing again at next year’s summer event.
