We are proud to support apprenticeships and be a part of the Microsoft Apprenticeship Scheme. 2015 marks the schemes 5 year anniversary with over 7000 Apprentices coming through so far, all making a positive impact on their chosen career.
At Pythagoras we take pride in developing a mix of graduates and apprentices as part of our continued business growth, investing in their skills and building a dynamic workforce by leveraging the expertise of our senior staff.
Pythagoras are featured in both the Apprentices and Employer videos below and we are delighted to share these below, in time for National Apprenticeship Week.

At Pythagoras we are proud of Kimberley and her achievements over the last 12 months. This blog profiles Kimberley’s progress.
Kimberley came to Pythagoras via the Microsoft Get On Programme; part of its global commitment to the next-generation, Youth Spark, and a three year initiative geared at helping 300,000 young people in the UK to ‘Get Inspired; Get Skilled; Get a Job’.
University v Apprenticeship
While University would provide Kimberley with a degree qualification and an active social life, the apprenticeship route offered the chance to gain qualifications whilst earning a wage, minimise debt, stay close to friends and family and importantly, get a ‘foot in the door’ with a ‘going places’ company offering invaluable workplace experience.
“Pythagoras is a leading Microsoft Gold partner with a diverse client base of blue chip organisations across a number of verticals – a great company to be part of. The training is provided by Firebrand and offers the fastest route to getting professional certification, with accelerated learning provided by industry-experienced professionals. For me, the opportunity was a no brainer,” said Kimberley.
In her programme with Microsoft, Pythagoras and Firebrand, Kimberley clocked up an impressive list of qualifications, including City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence, City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in ICT Systems and Principles and City & Guilds Level 2 Awards in Functional Skills English, Mathematics and Information Communication Technology.
And the since finishing her apprenticeship, the accolades have just kept coming. Kimberley has taken up a full-time job at Pythagoras; been the first woman to win the prestigious ‘Microsoft Apprentice of the Year 2014’ award in the medium sized employer category; become a Microsoft Apprentice Ambassador and graced the pages of many a newspaper and blog featuring her award and apprenticeship success.
“Being presented with the Microsoft Apprentice of the Year by Home Secretary, Theresa May and Microsoft UK’s Michel Van der Bel was an incredible experience,” Kimberley said. “Being an apprentice was the best thing I’ve ever done. Going from having no IT knowledge to winning this award has been quite a journey!”
According to Kimberley’s supervisor at Pythagoras, Richard Francis, her success is well deserved. “We’re very happy for Kimberley but it was all down to her. She joined Pythagoras with the right attitude and has maintained it all the way.”
Kimberley hopes to continue her career with Pythagoras and has her sights set on working in the IT projects team. She’s also proud to help get more women into IT as a Microsoft Apprenticeship Ambassador, helping promote the Get On Programme and demonstrate what it can lead to.

On Wednesday 15th October Pythagoras was delighted to attend and present at Microsoft’s Authorised Education Reseller Transformation Event held at The Churchill War Rooms in Central London.
As the leading Microsoft Dynamics CRM Partner for Education we presented on the huge growth in Microsoft Dynamics CRM across Higher Education driven by increased competition and the need for Universities to attract and importantly retain the highest calibre students.

The audience on the day consisted of the senior Microsoft Education Team, selected Microsoft Education Partners and Licensing Solution Providers (LSEs).
