Sage 200 Overview
Sage 200 Suite offers software to manage a wide range of business processes. Typically Sage 200 is used by small to medium-sized businesses, but it will also be suitable for many other organisations with complex operational processes. Sage 200 enables you to manage your critical business functions across sales, marketing, distribution and financials, all in a single suite of software that runs across your business, so you can respond to customers faster and grow your business more profitably.
Many elements of the Sage 200 suite have evolved over a long period of time. For example, Sage 200 Financials and Commercials are based on Sage MMS, a tried and tested system available for some years. Likewise, Sage 200 CRM (Customer Relationship Management) has been available for many years as standalone CRM software.
The basis of the suite is the Sage 200 Platform, which includes the following 'core' software:
Further software from the Sage 200 suite can then be added to this platform, including:
- Sage 200 Commercials – software to manage Sales and Purchase Order Processing, Pricing, Stock Management and Distribution
- Sage 200 Project Accounting – manages project costing, billing and analysis. Add-on software (Sage Web Time and Expenses) is available allowing the remote entry of time and expense details
- Sage 200 Bill of Materials – controls the processes of assembling finished goods from start to finish
- Sage 200 Construction – manages all processes related to Construction from estimates through to final billing.
The basic Sage 200 Platform comes enabled for one Financial user and one CRM user. Beyond that, you can add any number of different users to the CRM module, the Sage 200 Web Time and Expenses module, and to the rest of the system.
Sage 200 suite also has modules including software to manage Manufacturing, Wholesale and Retail, Merchandising and more.
Sage 200 allows companies to run software that operates across the business as a whole and delivers:
- Sage 200 will offer support for business processes that span departments –for example managing a prospect to a ‘suspect’ to a customer.
- Data sharing – for example, giving customer-facing teams a view of aged debtors in Sage 200 means the information or operations teams access to information on orders being placed.
- Data for analysis across the business, Sage 200 will enable improved management decisions and strategic direction setting.
