Universities Challenged: Managing the Student Journey
On Wednesday 7th December, Universities UK hosted a conference focused on enhancing the student experience. At the conference, Colin Charlton, Business Development Manager, Pythagoras, hosted a panel discussion about what defines the student experience in the millennial generation and where exactly does it start. Joining Colin on stage were-

Question Two: How do Institutions Approach Managing the Student Journey?
In three years, university offers have gone from letters, to emails, to social media, and it continues to transform. Trying to keep pace is hugely problematic. Students think in the instant and demand their chosen institution to be able to provide answers quickly to questions. It is also for the institutions to make the most from engagements, taking every opportunity to ask what else they can help with. The challenge for IT departments is to try to discourage investment in silos of systems and pockets of information; institutions will never get the big picture or be able to keep up with the pace of change that is coming now. The challenge is going to know how to react and use those digital moments to affect the experience.
