On Thursday, 5th September we were proud to host our very first Pythagoras Customer Awards at our customer party in London. We enjoyed some delicious food, drinks and healthy darts competition to celebrate the work that our customers have done to transform with technology.
Congratulations to the winners on the night!
Tech for Good Award: NSPCC
The NSPCC’s goal is, and always will be, to reach more children and adults that need help. Pythagoras has been incredibly proud to have worked with the NSPCC for the last three years to develop systems that enable this to happen.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 is now the core platform for case management within the NSPCC. Both Childline and Helpline contact centres use the platform to securely manage correspondence with children and adults (anonymously for children contacting Childline) from web, phone, chat and email. Staff can also use the system to pass sensitive case material to the appropriate social work or government agencies in a secure and streamlined way to ensure cases are dealt with quickly and appropriately.
At TechSmart in 2018, Gordan Gillespie of the NSPCC shared a story about how the NSPCC was able to quickly intervene in a serious situation and save a child’s life. The project at the NSPCC is a brilliant example of how technology and innovation are saving lives and directly impacting the quality of people’s lives.
User Adoption Award: London Metropolitan University
London Metropolitan University (LMU) operates in the most challenging sections of the UK higher education market. As part of a wide-ranging transformational programme, LMU has been working with Pythagoras to improve how the university engages with its audience.
A determined SMT backed Phil Chapman (Director of Engagement) worked to deliver the aspirations of a modern-day CRM capability for LMU’s Marketing, Conversion, Enquiries, Brand & Web and Community & Outreach teams.
The project was coordinated by a dedicated and proactive Project & Business change team who, with key members of Marketing and the Conversion Team corralled and cajoled the contributing support staff to deliver their desired solution on time, within budget.
This broke new ground for LMU and as a result, the university is now achieving better audience engagement with fewer resources.
Most Impactful Project Award: Age UK
Pythagoras has worked with Age UK since 2015 to develop and deploy a Dynamics 365-based solution that spans multiple areas of the charity, including marketing, donor management and service delivery. This solution directly impacts those in later life that depend on Age UK for support.
Age UK’s contact centre is now more readily able to identify individuals and offer personalised advice, thanks to their connected view of all communications across teams and postcode look up functionality.
Age UK Brand Partners now have a central portal that can be used to book essential services from home help to handyperson services and social activities. This ensures that all local Age UKs can operate as one, and those that they support get the best and most appropriate help possible.
We’re very proud to have been Age UK’s strategic partner throughout their Microsoft journey. The impact that their project has had can be felt throughout the organisation, and, more importantly by the people that they support.
Collaboration and Productivity Award: 8build
Pythagoras has worked with 8build across all areas of Office 365 and Dynamics 365. From delivering a new intranet based on SharePoint and Valo, to exploring PowerApps, 8build have been truly committed to using Microsoft technologies whenever a business requirement arises.
For the last two years, we’ve worked with 8build to deliver solutions that enhance efficiency and collaboration, often streamlining processes and reducing the need for 3rd party software along the way.
The team at 8build work so well with the Pythagoras project team in an extremely collaborative fashion, and we’re pleased to say we have a true strategic partnership.
Individual Contributor Award: Dan Lockeretz (UnLtd)
UnLtd provides support services to social entrepreneurs, helping them to grow, develop and enhance their positive social impact.
Keen to expand the number of organisations they could help, UnLtd came to Pythagoras to develop a better way of tracking and allocating funds, managing mentor programmes and reporting on outcomes.
Dynamics 365 now provides UnLtd with a flexible platform for account management, email nurturing and personalisation. Extended with Microsoft Portals, the system also provides a space for award application and grant management. With the help of their new Dynamics 365 platform, UnLtd supported a huge 253 different start-ups last year.
Dan has gone above and beyond for Pythagoras, providing references, speaking at industry events and evangelising not just the technology but the real benefits that charities can gain from adopting the technology. We’re very pleased to give Dan this award, and we look forward to working with him and UnLtd for many more years.
Microsoft Evangelism Award: Staffordshire University
Underpinning Staffordshire University’s strategy to become the Leading Digital University is the adoption and utilisation of key Microsoft technologies. These technologies support how Staffordshire University engages to deliver world class customer services and improve use of back-office resource.
Staffordshire was the first UK institution to move all of its key back-office systems into Azure and provide the interactive, digital friend “Beacon” for their students. Beacon is an AI coach, using intelligent Chatbot technology designed to help Staffs students get the most from their university experience whenever and wherever via the mobile app.
Dynamics 365 is embedded within their Digital Hub Road Map and in 2018 Pythagoras successfully delivered the Enquiry & Campaign management solution with a focus on establishing a campus wide CRM platform.
As we progress through 2019, the University is taking strides to realise the full capabilities and business benefits Dynamics 365 & Evolve HE (Pythagoras’ HE specific offering) offers. The next phase is preparation for CRM adoption within International Recruitment & Education Liaison teams. Thereafter, business operations within Student Wellbeing (integrating Beacon with Dynamics 365) and managing International Applications processing are scheduled to follow.
Thank you to everyone that joined us, and congratulations to our winners!
