Join the family

Many companies talk about having a family feel and friendly culture, but with us it’s apparent the moment you walk through our doors – and this culture comes from the very top. Pythagoras was founded in 1999 by Julian, our CEO, and Emma, our CFO, a husband and wife team who still play an active role in our management.

We foster an ‘open door’ policy across all members of the Pythagoras team, including our Senior Management, to encourage everyone to share their experience, knowledge and ideas.

An independent British company, we’re big enough to make an impact but small enough for you to make an impact too.

Our business in one paragraph

So, what do we do? In a nutshell, we work with clients to deliver business critical solutions and services across Microsoft Dynamics 365, Sharepoint, Office 365 and Azure, and we’ve even developed our own IP product called Evolve. Our areas of expertise are Local and Regional Government, Higher Education, Not for Profit and Membership.

Being big-headed for a moment…

We must be doing something right as we’ve almost doubled our size in the last four years, and have been accredited with a two-star Best Company rating for employee engagement and we’ve been a Microsoft Gold Partner since 2006. We’re also members of Microsoft’s Inner Circle – global strategic partners who have a proven track record of delivering excellence and innovation.

We’re proud to have been recognised as one of four finalists worldwide for Microsoft’s Government Partner of the year 2018. These global acknowledgements are a huge source of satisfaction, but we’ve always stayed true to our roots and that’s why we were equally delighted to be awarded Maidenhead and Windsor Business of the Year 2017.

Enjoy great company

Now spread over three sites in Maidenhead, London and Birmingham, we’re fully aware that any service-based company is only as good as the people who work for it. That’s why we make no apologies for being so fussy with recruitment, from graduate level through to company directors.

We love passion and positivity; almost as much as our clients. We foster a work hard, play harder philosophy and are delighted that so many of our staff choose to socialise together.

Where you fit in

Our whole philosophy is based on positivity, and that’s why your enthusiasm is just as important to us as your skills. While we expect plenty from everyone who joins us, we believe our employees are entitled to expect plenty from us too. That’s why, as well as a long list of benefits, developing your skills with regular tailored training is a key priority for us.

If you have a passion for everything you do and love to learn about new things, it’s safe to say you’re going to fit in well at Pythagoras.

About the role

This role works closely with the Director of People and Culture delivering day to day people processes and supporting HR projects. The vacancy has arisen due to the current role holder going on maternity leave in Jan/Feb 2019 so is for a 12 month fixed term period.

There’s always a lot going on so you’ll need to be able to get stuck in and be prepared to turn your hand at most aspects of HR practice from recruitment, to employee relations advice, to induction training to organising our annual bake off competition!

In order to be able to juggle the different demands of the role you’ll be well organised and resilient too. We haven’t come this far without hard work and sometimes having to make tough decisions. The ability to see the bigger picture and understand the commercial priorities of the business will therefore be an asset.

You should have a friendly approach, a can-do attitude with the ability to question to help us continually improve our people practices. HR work closely with all areas and levels of the business so you’ll need to be comfortable to communicate as easily with our CEO as with one of our consultants.

If you’ve managed to pick up an HR qualification or degree along the way this will be of benefit but more important is solid administrative experience. Therefore, this role may suit an HR Administrator ready to take the next step in their career.
