Pool Reinsurance and Pythagoras: 4 Years of Partnership
Pool Re is the UK’s leading provider of terrorism reinsurance. Established in 1993 by the insurance industry and the UK Government, Pool Re provides effective protection for the UK economy and currently underwrites over £2 trillion of exposure in commercial property to terrorism risk across the UK mainland.
Pool Re originally introduced Microsoft Dynamics CRM in 2015 to provide a central platform for membership management. Pool Re’s members include most insurers providing commercial property and consequential loss insurance in the UK.
The initial rollout of Microsoft Dynamics CRM enabled Pool Re to bring its key membership data into one place, reducing data duplication and giving enhanced visibility of communications across their Membership team.
Pool Re has expanded its use of the system beyond the Membership team by upgrading to Dynamics 365. The platform is now used as a central data repository accessed regularly by over two-thirds of the organisation.
Pool Re and Pythagoras recognised the value that could be gained through automation, so began work to create
a seamless and automated way of processing membership renewals.
Using Azure, Pythagoras created a smooth integration to Business Central (Pool Re’s finance system), to give a joined-up view of all elements of member engagement. Pool Re also began using Experido and Docusign alongside Dynamics 365, enabling their team to deliver automated, paperless membership renewals.
In 2019, Pool Re further extended its membership platform to include Dynamics 365 for Marketing. The introduction of this marketing tool enables the marketing team to deliver integrated marketing campaigns and plan large-scale events. The team benefits from a flexible and user-friendly tool, and can also make use of the wealth of insight about each member in Dynamics 365.
“A key win for us was that no one has to VPN or go through convoluted systems when they are out of the office. Using Microsoft’s extensive security tools, users can sign in and see the same things they’d see in the office.”
